Shazza Artist Bio

1) Shazza is the stage name of Magdalena Pańkowska, a female polish singer-songwriter and occasional actress. Having been proclaimed “the queen of disco polo”, Shazza remains one of the best-selling singers of the genre, best known for her hit songs “Baiao Bongo”, “Bierz co chcesz”, “Egipskie noce” or “Noc róży”.

2) Shareefa Aminah, known to the music world as shazza, wrote her first proper song when she was all of 11 and hasn’t been able to stop since. Born and raised in sunny Singapore, the 22-year-old singer-songwriter grew up surrounded by music at home, with the odd combination of Norah Jones and the Black Eyed Peas becoming the soundtrack to her childhood.
Inspired by the likes of ABBA, Taylor Swift, Dolly Parton, and Harry Styles, shazza makes full use of the freedom that music offers, seeking to keep exploring with sounds and aiming toward a discography that speaks to just about anyone. The hijabi songstress also has her heart set on breaking boundaries and sparking change. Growing up, shazza hardly saw anyone who looked like her making music the way she dreamed of doing. She aims to be the change, and to be that person for future generations, bringing more representation to the table with her music and her presence in the industry.

3) Shaza was born on July 31, 1984, in Saudi Arabia, and lived there until the Gulf War. In 1991, she returned to Egypt and settled in El Qawmya Quarter, Zagazig, in the Sharkia Governorate. She continued her studies at El Shoban El Moslmeen School and later earned her BOB certificate from Jamal Abd El Nasser School. Shaza then joined El 3obor Academy, where she studied Business Administration.
At around six years old, Shaza’s family recognized her exceptional talent and encouraged her to pursue artistic work. Her first appearance was in the film “El Garage”, alongside actress Njlaa Fathy. She then participated in school concerts and appeared at various prestigious events.
Key milestones in Shaza’s career include her role in “Zawag 3la Wara’ Solifan”, with actors Ahmed El Sa’ea and Mona Zaki. Her first album, “El Helm El Wardy”, produced by her father, was never released due to production issues. In 2003, Shaza joined “Libo Co.” for artistic production, and in 2004, her album “Lialy El Sho2” was released, achieving great success. She filmed three music videos from the album: “Lialy El Sho2,” “Eskot,” and “Ana Alby.” Read more on Last.fm.
