Shepherd Artist Bio

1)Shepherd is a Bangalore (India)-based sludge/heavy rock band that’s been making waves in the underground since its coming together in early 2011. Drawing Influence from the guitar driven sounds of early 90’s hard rock (Soundgarden, The Melvins, Eyehategod) and 80’s hardcore punk (Black Flag, Discharge), the band has built a reputation for itself as an ever-evolving and unpredictable heavy rock entity.

2) Shepherd is a rapper and producer from Oslo, Norway. He is longstanding member of the rap crew Alarmclock Connection. He released his solo debut Left Luggage for free downloading on alarmclock.no. Shepherd’s music is clearly inspired by 1990’s hip hop, but has a clearly original edge. The music is characterized by often heavily chopped jazz and reggae samples, and Shepherd’s rapping is characterized by his funky and bebop-like delivery, as well as fairly complex and somewhat contemplative lyrics.
