IF: Howlin” Wolf or Charley Patton had a love-child with Memphis Minnie or maybe Edith Piaf or Billie Holiday, and they named this beautiful maybe-baby Elvis or Janis and then asked Mr. Spock to transport this zygote back to the beginning of it all, so ignites this spark-of-love’s body-electric-process called Soul Return. By riding on the inside edges of the most outermost of grooves… so follows this soul’s return journey home… spring forward and full speed ahead matey!

We begin this beguine… sublimely, as the soul returns back into us, and returns us all inside-out into the one, two, three… then count to four. As it quickly materialized, we saw it standing there… and then just as suddenly the transported love-child-dust flew out of it’s orbit ring during the very first revolution and dropped right into the middle of Blind Willie Johnson’s tin cup in the form of a golden coin-drop. In this blind man’s tin cup, a big baby began to grow.. and it grew… and it grew up way into the clouds, beanstalk-style, and finally beamed back down on a lightening rod as a golden-bright and shining, effortless force of nature… all with a natural head of hair too, no wigs that is, by the way. The child then sought out a few key pointers from of the likes of Blind Lemon Jefferson, Jimmie Rodgers, King Solomon Hill, King Pleasure, and Curtis Mayfield, along with a bunch of other hillbillies, gypsies, various forgotten vaudeville acts, some mighty gospel quartettes & quintettes, circus-tent & broken down medicine show performers. Then this power of love, like a tornado, tore through the strange forces of destiny, and eventually met up with a few others of a similar soul-spirit-story, and maybe even DNA. By combining forces together, they shot themselves straight into the purple haze vein of the 60’s love fests and various music scenes right through the center of a warm California poppy, formed immaculately without any seeds, and without any GMO. At midnight everyone was re-transported & returned back up… and zapped like our crumb through the worm hole of time into the far-away future (but still a little bit before the ice caps had completely melted away). So we’re not talking about the unforeseeable future here, mind you…of the seven seas, as they were very special, as noted from the lowest to highest waves… all across this great world and far beyond. So, you see-saw… rider? This is what Soul Return, in fact, might be.

The future: where those of the same spirit shall all meet up, up and away again in the clear blue sky… nothing but blue skies… and where everybody is having a laugh and a good time …feeling the music, the beat, the sweat, the harmony… and where everyone is involved with that never-ending conversation inside of music, beyond spoken language, and just doing the right thing by loving life and listening to the voice of their core Soul… The I AM, that is… that is what Soul Return is.
