Stick Artist Bio

Stick was a short-lived American Grunge band. Little is known about them because readily available information is mostly just images and hearsay posted in Internet forums. Stick formed in Lawrence, Kansas in the early 90’s during the surge of the Seattle Grunge scene. Stick was comprised of Mark Smirle (Vocals), Mike Tobin (Guitar), Darrel Brannock (Bass) and Tim Mohn (Drums). They released two albums through Arista Records (BMI), both of which received limited airplay. Their first album ‘Heavy Bag’ was released in 1993. They performed frequently in the local music scenes of Lawrence Kansas, Kansas City and Wichita during this period. They released their second album, ‘Disgruntled Ex-Employee’ in 1996. Both albums were professionally produced. It is generally agreed that Stick was not promoted well by their record label quite unlike their contemporaries, Paw and Kill Creek. The group is assumed to have disbanded shortly after the release of their 2nd album. Many listeners regard them as an underrated underground band that deserved more recognition. Read more on Last.fm.
