Synthek Artist Bio

Synthek (Luca Landolfi, b. 1985), originally from Naples, Italy, is a Berlin based DJ and producer, owner of Natch Records and the STK imprint. He is a respected resident DJ at Tresor Berlin and also has been curating the booking of New Faces on Wednesdays at the legendary venue. Always seeking for new influences, over the past years, the style of his sets and productions faced a constant evolution focusing on deep rhythmics and powerful, introspective vibes. Synthek releases are widely supported by prominent figures of the international techno scene, such as DVS1, Inigo Kennedy, Marcel Fengler, or Jonas Kopp.

Synthek bought his first console at age 18 consisting of two turntables and a mixer. He started his journey into music by shifting between styles and techniques while honing his skills as a DJ. After about two years, he started performing at some of Italy’s premier DJ booths alongside Leroy Thornhill of The Prodigy, DJ Billy Nasty, Mark Broom, Markantonio, Kevin Gorman, Tim Xavier, The Advent, etc.

After graduating as a sound engineer in 2009 and following a few successful EPs on Natch Records, he released his debut album, “Unwise,” in collaboration with his label partner, Audiolouis (Luigi Ciccella, currently working under the Ruhig moniker). The album got remixed by Polar Inertia, Antigone, and Varg among others.

The idea behind creating the STK imprint (home of his own productions only) was to give himself the freedom to experiment new approaches to music production and reshape his signature sound. The initial wave of the Verse EPs, launched in July 2015, brought him to look slightly away from the dancefloor and orienting towards mind-twisting and psychedelic compositions.

In April 2017 he brought up his second full-length album (first in solo), “Transitions of Life,” released on Natch Elements (an introspective extension of Natch Records), giving the audience a real showcase of himself in many shades and details.

As of May 2018 Synthek’s latest offering is a 5-track EP, “The Hidden Dimension,” released by ASC’s Auxiliary label. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
