Ungar Artist Bio

Ungar (a.k.a. Jonathan) is a DJ and producer based in Galicia (Spain). Involved in the Galician electronic music scene for the last 10 years, he is the owner of NuLabel, a digital label created in the summer of 2011, and which in few months has received the support of renown artists such as Richie Hawtin,Colin Dale , Xpansul , Troy Pierce, Seph, Marc Marzenit or Sasha Carassi among others, making the label known within the international circuits of electronic music.
His livesets are pure improvisation and he is open-minded to a wide selection of musical styles, from Minimal to Techno, passing through Dub, Electro or House. On his beginnings, labels such as Axis, Counter Balance, Plus 8, Purpose Maker, Rotation, Tresor, Hardgroove, Siesta, Maya, Doubledown and others, were a great influence in his musical style.
He has been resident DJ at clubs in A Coruña and Pontevedra (Spain). Nowadays he has his monthly “Showcase NuLabel” at russian radio United Radio, where Ungar offers livesets packed with energy, quality, eclecticism and also will give other Dj’s the possibility to show their own way of understanding electronic music.
As a producer, his sound could be described as dark, filled with hellish sounds and obscure atmospheres, accompanied by percussions which create sonorous landscapes with an abundance of Groove, very energetic and always with a proper elegance. We can also find tracks that flirt with Techno and a very intimate and personal Dub within his Discography.Besides the work on his own label (NuLabel), he has published on other labels such as Divided (Italy), Music Kollektiv (Russia), Stosh Records (Ukraine), Taste Buds Digital (England), Alohechotecho (Spain) and Krad Records (Argentina).
Prior to summer Ungar will have his latest remixes and ep`s on Kaputt Musik (Germany) , Lost Land Records (Italy), Cuatro Records (Spain) and Concepto Hipnótico (Argentina), plus other surprises.
