Zoe Johnston Artist Bio

Zoë Johnston is a British singer-songwriter, who grew up in Nottinghamshire. Johnston is best known for her vocal contributions to Faithless, Above & Beyond, and Bent.

She made her debut when she was featured on a number of tracks from Neon Heights’ album A View From The Heights. At the same time, Johnston was writing lyrics for Bent’s debut album Programmed To Love. Johnston’s vocals appear on the tracks “Private Road” and “Swollen”. And also she sings on the track “kisses” with German lyrics of Nana Mouskouri’s song “Küsse süßer als Wein”.

Her vocal contribution to “Swollen”, a track on Programmed To Love, caught the attention of Faithless member Rollo Armstrong, leading to an eighteen-month involvement in Faithless. Johnston performed with the group during their world tour.

Johnston has also performed with The Beautiful South, Delerium, and Above and Beyond in their single “Good For Me” on record label Anjunabeats.

Zoë Johnston’s solo album, Happenstances was released on 27 November 2006 by Shiva Records. The album includes an original version of one of Johnston’s best known tracks — “Crazy English Summer”, from Faithless album Outrospective.
